Flux Forward – April Reflections

From activity to direction

Over the past month, one pattern kept coming back. Many internationals are not inactive. They are trying.

They apply, attend events, improve their CVs, stay consistent. But underneath that effort, something feels off:

“I’m doing a lot, but I don’t know if it’s leading anywhere.”

What we saw in April

In April, we spent more time working directly with people. Through sessions, workshops, and small group conversations.

Different formats. Same pattern. Not a lack of effort. A lack of direction and context.

We saw this in conversations around:

- feeling stuck after graduation

- struggling to translate experience

- dealing with constant pressure and uncertainty

- trying to navigate a system that is hard to read

In many cases, the issue is not capability. It’s misalignment.

What we’ve been building

This month, we officially launched the Activation Scan. A simple 5-minute diagnostic to help you see where things are actually getting stuck.

Alongside that, we also launched:

- A new website → https://fluxforward.world (https://fluxforward.world)

- The Activation Scan → https://scan.fluxforward.world (https://scan.fluxforward.world)

- The first version of our app and dashboard → https://app.fluxforward.world (https://app.fluxforward.world)

In the past week alone:

- 50+ people completed the scan

- 30+ shared feedback

And the same patterns kept coming back. The idea is simple: Give people a quick signal, connect it to real situations, and help them see one clear next step.

From confusion to clarity

Most people try to fix the visible problem. Improve the CV. Apply more. Network more.

But often, that’s not where things are actually breaking. Progress starts when you see the right layer. Not everything is a visibility problem. Often, it’s a translation or navigation problem.

What we shared this month

Some of the reflections we published:

- “I’m fine” is not the full story → https://blog.fluxforward.world/p/imfine (https://blog.fluxforward.world/p/imfine)

- Networking is not enough → https://blog.fluxforward.world/p/networking-is-not-enough (https://blog.fluxforward.world/p/networking-is-not-enough)

- When things start to click → https://blog.fluxforward.world/p/when-things-start-to-click-for-internationals (https://blog.fluxforward.world/p/when-things-start-to-click-for-internationals)

- Why many internationals feel stuck → https://blog.fluxforward.world/p/why-many-internationals-feel-stuck (https://blog.fluxforward.world/p/why-many-internationals-feel-stuck)

- Not everything is burnout → https://blog.fluxforward.world/p/not-everything-is-burnout (https://blog.fluxforward.world/p/not-everything-is-burnout)

- “I don’t have the luxury to slow down” → https://blog.fluxforward.world/p/i-dont-have-the-luxury-to-slow-down (https://blog.fluxforward.world/p/i-dont-have-the-luxury-to-slow-down)

- How activation actually happens → https://blog.fluxforward.world/p/how-activation-actually-happens (https://blog.fluxforward.world/p/how-activation-actually-happens)

- You’re not stuck. You’re misdiagnosed. → https://blog.fluxforward.world/p/youre-not-stuck-youre-misdiagnosed (https://blog.fluxforward.world/p/youre-not-stuck-youre-misdiagnosed)

Small sessions, real conversations

We also hosted a series of small sessions. Just small groups, real conversations.

Across all of them, one thing stood out: People come from different backgrounds, but go through very similar experiences: Uncertainty. Pressure. Translation. Direction.

And often, what helps most is not advice, but recognition.

What’s coming next (May)

We’re continuing with a few focused sessions:

- Just finished studying in NL, but still stuck?

- The Invisible To-Dos of Life in NL

- From Hiring to Retention

Small groups. Simple format. Real situations. More info → https://fluxforward.world/events (https://fluxforward.world/events)

One thought to leave you with

If you feel stuck, it doesn’t automatically mean something is wrong with you.رYou might just be trying to solve the wrong problem.
